Production Planner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop forecasted production plan by assessing customer demand, manufacturing capacity and resource availability.
  2. Maintain long-term forecasting tools to review capacity vs. demand trends, sharing information with the rest of the organization.
  3. Prepare and distribute the weekly/monthly production schedules, and communicate deviations to the appropriate teams.
  4. Analyze Fabrication Department capacity to determine outsourcing needs.
  5. Develop effective scheduling processes to achieve production objectives.
  6. Work closely with Customer Service Representatives to answer and assist with any schedule change requests.
  7. Review internal scheduling change requests, and coordinate implementation with the appropriate teams.
  8. Review raw material availability as it pertains to change requests. Notify Purchasing Department of changing material requirements. Adjust production schedules as needed based on part availability and customer demands.
  9. Assist in resolving production and raw material supply conflicts and improving efficiencies.
  10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
  11. As part of the AROW Global team you will need to understand the AROW Quality Policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of previous production planning or scheduling experience
  • Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in business operating systems (i.e. MRP/ERP) highly desired
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Team Player
  • Initiative – Engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities of improvement
  • Analytical Thinking – Logically breaks down problems and looks for solutions
  • Self-Motivated
  • Minimum of two years of previous production planning or scheduling experience
  • Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent experience
